Crystal joined Athabasca University in 2021 as a Clinical Instructor and transitioned into the faculty role of Academic Coordinator in 2024. Her work focuses mainly on clinical education and providing support and guidance to Clinical Instructors. Her nursing background spans medical‑surgical practice and cancer care, where she developed strong clinical expertise and a passion for high‑quality patient and learner support.

Crystal is a nursing educator dedicated to fostering student success and promoting both clinical judgement and critical thinking in the learning environment. With a strong commitment to collaborative teaching, she mentors both students and clinical instructors to build confidence, professional judgment, and reflective practice. Crystal is passionate about creating supportive learning spaces where emerging Registered Nurses feel encouraged, challenged, and inspired to grow. Through mentorship, evidence‑informed approaches, and a focus on academic excellence, she works to strengthen the student experience.
