Lisa is Associate Professor, Biology and is responsible for the development, teaching, and coordination of courses in microbiology, immunology, cell biology, and human genetics. With expertise in STEM advocacy and a strong research and scholarship focus in microbiology, immunology, and cell biology, Lisa is deeply committed to supporting diverse learners as they navigate complex scientific concepts. Teaching strategies include hands-on and collaborative projects that explore microbial interactions in medicine, industry, and the environment, as well as the use of interactive tools to strengthen understanding of immunity and infection. Through guided scientific inquiry and study questions grounded in real-world issues, these courses foster an inclusive and ethical learning environment that promotes critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific literacy.
